As owner and head trainer, I bring over five decades of fitness experience and have been a professional trainer since 2011. I specialize in training active older adults and seniors, including post-rehabilitation and neurological training, with a focus on safe, effective programs that improve strength, mobility, balance, and confidence. Having faced my own physical challenges after a stroke a few years ago, I understand firsthand how important it is to rebuild strength, restore confidence, and keep moving forward. My background includes bodybuilding, martial arts, and calisthenics, influenced by mentors such as Jack LaLanne, Bruce Lee, and my father, a three-time AAU gold medalist amputee athlete.
Personal note: In my late 60s, I challenged myself to do 1,000 push-ups in approximately an hour and 200 pull-ups in about 30 minutes — demonstrating that consistent, intelligent training can remain effective even in later years.
Named Best Personal Trainer in Augusta by the Quality Business Awards, Wally delivers efficient, purposeful workouts built for real results.

[The Baskovich Legacy: Strength, Resilience, and Service, as written by Michael James.]
Waldimir “Wally” Baskovich Sr. was a respected figure in the amputee community, known for his athletic success, professional work in orthotics and prosthetics, and lifelong example of resilience after losing his leg at age 11 in a train accident.
His athletic achievements were remarkable. In the 1940s, he became a three-time AAU flying rings gold medalist and was recognized as the first amputee to win a gold medal in that event. He later became a two-time U.S. Amputee Golf Champion and was also a frequent competitor and champion in the Southern States Amputee Championship, winning in years such as 1964 and 1968.
Beyond sports, Baskovich spent decades helping other amputees through his professional work in Chicago. He was the former owner of the American Limb & Orthopedic Company, a firm dedicated to creating and fitting prosthetic devices. His work focused on rehabilitation, training, and helping amputees regain mobility, confidence, and independence.
His impact went beyond personal achievement. He is credited as a founding member of the Southern Amputee Golf Association, helping formalize competitive sports for amputees and opening doors for others to compete.
The Baskovich name continues through his son, Waldimir “Wally” Robert Baskovich, author of Forged in Fitness. The book reflects how his father’s discipline, resilience, and athletic example as an amputee helped shape his own path in martial arts, personal training, and fitness coaching. Today, Wally operates Body By Wally, carrying forward the old-school grit, strength, perseverance, and service he learned from his father.]
